Celebrating chemistry! Today’s most inspiring, exclusive molecules, that perfume designer Karl Bradl and creative director/designer of aesthetics Carlos Quintero turn into perfumes, are behind this boldly modernistic concept of Nomenclature.

Niche, New York brand Nomenclature offers a collection of unique scents made out of 100 percent synthetic materials—If you are a dedicated perfume lover you are aware that, for centuries, none of the most famous fragrances would exist today if it weren’t for synthetic fragrance notes.

“Scientists design these outstanding compounds as elegant solutions to very practical problems. For example, to find a compassionate equivalent to musk, an ecological substitute for sandalwood or a cost-efficient alternative to ambergris. I fell in love with the idea of celebrating design in fragrance chemistry.”

The duo collaborated on each design element of the project, but it was Karl who led the development of the fragrances. “Because fragrances are art, not solutions!” quips Carlos.
