CLARY SAGE ESSENTIAL OIL

The medicinal properties of clary sage were well known to the Romans who introduced it to England. Its name comes from the Latin "salvare" (to save). The Greeks also appreciated it. Dioscorides discovered its efficacy as a remedy for the liver. In 1938, the biologist Kroszcinki verified its properties as a plant healing agent.

Essential Oil obtained by steam distillation of the flowers of the plant Clary Sage, with origin in the Mediterranean.

Clear sage is a short-lived perennial herbaceous plant belonging to the Laminaceae family. It is native to the Mediterranean region to central Asia, reaches a height of 1 meter when in flower, but in winter it dies and returns to being a basal rosette. The leaves have a woolly texture and reach 10-20cm long and 6-12cm wide. Its flowers appear in groups of 2-6 on the stem, they are white, pink or pale purple. The glands of the flower stems are the ones that produce the precious essential oil.

The Essential Oil of Clary Sage is used in aromatherapy to relieve anxiety and fear, problems related to menstruation, such as premenstrual syndrome and cramps, and helping with insomnia.

SKIN APPLICATION:

• Facial Use: we recommend a ratio of 99% Carrier Oil plus 1% Essential Oil. This translates into 2 drops of Essential Oil for every 10 ml. of Carrier Oil.
• Body Use: we recommend a proportion of 97% Carrier Oil plus 3% Essential Oil, which means 6 drops of Essential Oil per 10 ml. of Carrier Oil.

APPLICATION METHOD:

• Diffuser: the use of diffusers without heat such as the ALQVIMIA Flask is recommended, since heat modifies the properties of essential oils. Use a maximum of 10 drops of Essential Oil Preparation in the diffuser.
• Bath - jacuzzi : dilute a maximum of 10-15 drops of Essential Oil in bath water.
• Steam Inhalation: apply a maximum of 5 drops of Essential Oil Preparation on a saucepan of hot water with approximately 1-2 liters of water, and inhale covering the head and the saucepan with a towel, to keep the steam for longer.

Cautions: Topical use. Avoid contact with your eyes and other sensitive areas. Keep out of the reach of children. Consult your doctor before using during pregnancy, breastfeeding or with any other medical treatments. Some essential oils are sensitive to light, so don't expose skin to the sun after use. Store in a cool (<25ºC), dry place, away from light. Flammable.
